Oslo Wu-Tan is a Chinese Guoshu (kung Fu) club located in Oslo, Norway. It offers instruction in Islamic sect Long Fist, Chen style Taijiquan, and Northern Praying Mantis. The club is associated with the Wu-Tan Chinese Martial Arts Association. Oslo Wu-Tan was established by Paolo Castaneda, a disciple of Master Kurt Wong, in March of 2003. He began teaching classes at Sport & Mosjon health club where he began to attract students interested in learning guoshu. The club is continuing to grow steadily in Oslo, Norway.
The club promote a friendly atmosphere where people come to learn martial arts and also learn about Wu-Tan's culture, history, and philosophy. In order to promote learning, classes are not taught in a militaristic manner as in other schools. Of course in regards to training, it is taken very seriously and students are expected to work hard. The secret to excelling in guoshu is hard work and time. Competitive egos are looked down upon at Oslo Wu-Tan. In order to better ourselves as martial artists, we encourage everybody to work together to improve their skills and develop a positive attitude in regards to training.
The goal of Oslo Wu-Tan is to promote the traditions of Grandmaster Liu Yun-Qiao in Oslo, Norway. It is our hope that we may share our guoshu tradition and educate the public on Chinese martial arts. We welcome visitors to come and visit our training sessions.
